McLean Park Go
It was good to see the boost to funding for the McLean Park upgrade. If there ever was a facility that needed attention it is McLean Park .It has been left behind over the years and things have changed immensely since the great Ranfurly Shield era . Congratulations to Mr Bramwell and his team .If we can see some world Cup rugby played their it will be great.
It is sad however that we now have a swimming lobby putting their hands up ,not so much because of the ‘what about me’ but looking around we seem to have swimming pools spread through Napier and Hastings and none of them suitable for the best training.The Onekawa pool was an ‘Olympic Pool ‘when built and Flaxmere was another up to date at the time. Ratepayers are not a bottomless pit however so they may just have to wait or think outside the square .
