The local newspaper insists on giving one Regional Councillor annual coverage on the councillor salary issue and cannot see that its a deliberate ploy to make him look like a goody two shoes .

His arguments covered in the item ,such as linking it to local government compliance costs were totally spurious and did not warrant coverage. As the Chairman pointed out it was still to go to the Remuneration Authority for review. The real laugh is that the expenses are supposedly for technology and an insider informs meerkat that most of the Regional Councillors don’t know how to turn a computer on.

Bowing to even more pressure ,the Regional Council have gifted another $50′000 of ratepayers money to the pathway project at Clive where controversy played a hand . Cr Scott has ‘come out ‘ and after seeking advice from the auditors office ,has now deciced she can vote on pathway issues .Now she may resign form the Pathways Trust and make everything transparent.

The total of $100′000 thrown at this part of the project is an absolute disgrace .

The Council has also thrown $10′000 to the Wairoa Museum with Scott and Dick agreeing to the gift but then in some wierd way of absolving themselves  they also agreed that the Council has not formulated a funding policy. 

It’s so easy to give away other peoples money.
