When one looks at the makeup of the hatchet brigade at the regional council it is illuminating to note that they compose two ex mayors,one ex MP and one ex chairman of the council.
It is an unhealthy makeup that underlines the danger in electing people who have been in power and wish to keep weilding that power.
It may be time to suggest that ex Mayors and MP’s cannot stand for office on local authorities for 10 years after holding office.
Regional Councils need people who are serious about the environment,not about the baubles of office.
