Last nights meeting was again a joke with no answers and no clarification about funding for the RSP.
Even Sam Kelts million has been shifted to stage three.This doesn’t stack up with the original intention.
The more mirrors used the more mirrors needed.
It is a little like when new MP’s were told to breathe through their nose for the first term.Learn what it is all about and be careful.
Cr Anne Wilson has forgotten one major part of her anatomy—–ears.She is their to represent ratepayers not to preach to them.
It is time she shut up and opened her ears. Time to learn not to dictate.

The point was well made that Hastings were not prepared to help fund the McLean Park upgrade which is truly a regional facility.
So why expect Napier residents to contibute to a Hastings facility. And it is a Hastings facility.It is not a regional facility and the council should not tout it to be as such.
Napier is in a strong position financially as is the Regional Council.
Hastings has made bad decisions and is in the poo.
Face up to it for a start
The latest move is a manouvre that is placing funds in a position where they will be used to fund wishlists of elected wannabes and office holders with cunning plans.
At a time when tourism is going to struggle and our customary primary industries are desperately needed it would be good to see common sense and dump this organisation forthwith.
The Chamber of Commerce has announced the formation of a committee of non elected and non political persons to lobby in a constructive way for the Bay.
This is a better option than letting local government suck out more money from ratepayers for no return.
The Mayors have caved in already and Auckland will be a cotcase before too long.
It is such a shame that Hide and Douglas will get their way and wag the dog on this one.
So much at stake.

Who is going to pay this money.

It is disconcerting to see the Minister , one Nick smith , and his reaction to this stupid agreement.
It’s time Mr Key moved him on down the corridor.
So the Regional Council is stepping into the Governments area by trying to tackle the home heating/insulation please subsidise us and expand another department make more work grow the council and tackle the impossible with more staff.
This is a bad move by the council.there is no need for a housing officer and this is typical of what happens to central government.Don’t go there.
This is definately an area for central government to deal with and should be canned immediately.
Get those submissions in!!!!!
Wards or at large ,that is the question
Having a mix of wards and at large options for electing councillors is confusing for ratepayers and inconsistent.
The only choice is one or the other.
Napier is a shambles now and should choose one or the other for the next election.
Auckland……..well thats another story.Same sentiments and same solution but this is where it possible to see that politicians such as Rodney Hide do not understand local government and are relying on superficial kneejerk reactions to make major changes and thus mistakes when it comes to changing local government.
Good to see some arguing coming from Napier City though.
This has been discussed at length before and would be a bad move for the Bay.
When it is noted the Hastings District debt is climbing to near $100m this pitch can be seen clearly for what it is.
Hastings is saying ‘we have dug ourselves a big hole and we want the regional Councils money to get us out.
The answer is simple.
Learn to manage your affairs in a prudent fashion and don’t eye up the neighbours who have done just that.
