Key Staff Lost to regional council

At times there are signals emanating from bodies that are indicators that all is not well within.

The Regional Council has recently lost two key staff members,  Andrew Curtis from Land Management and Murray Buchanan from the role of Group Manager Environmental.

People of this calibre need to be retained in such an organisation so it is a concern that something is not correct.

The situation will be watched with interest and any deterioration of the quality of council stewardship will be noted.

Foreshore Mistake

It was pleasing to watch the poorly timed question and answer programme on TV One this morning and hear Doug Graham and Winston Peters agreeing on the awkward position that National have put themselves in by caving in on the question of the legislation covering the seabed and foreshore.

There is no way anyone can own the seabed and foreshore. It is there for all to enjoy, not to own and control.

John Key has backed himself into a corner over this one and it it is hard to see a way out. We as New Zealanders , are becoming more and more concerned over what appears to be a change in direction by National, a change that most did not vote for.
