Mayor Arnott

Yet another radio comment.

Today the Mayor of Napier made a brilliant comment on the suggested amalgamation that has eminated from the Hastings beehive.

What for and for whom she asked. Mayor Arnott proceeded to outline the well functioning setup we have and the possibilities to improve it.

There is no problem.We are not Auckland. Bravo!

Every ratepayer should request a copy of this commentary for some sensible, reasoned answers to the question of amalgamation.

Bizzarre Agenda Comment

The Napier City Council recently discussed whether to issue election papers with names in alphabetical order or at random.For some obscure reason they mentioned that the HB Regional Council were the leading agency so they should follow with an alphabetical approach .Perhaps it has something to do with the voting forms for both councils being on the same paper. This caused confusion at the last election but no thought of addressing this issue.
